Bad Idea

You don't negotiate with terrorists. You don't grant them legitimacy. These assholes are terrorists:

• Cleveland-area minister Darrel Scott, a longtime supporter of Trump, claimed he'd been contacted by several Chicago gang leaders who want to curb violence with Trump's help.
  
  "I was recently contacted by some of the top gang thugs in Chicago for a sitdown," Pastor Darrell Scott said.
  
  "The guys that reached out to me, those are the ones who I responded to. And if they want to reach out to the mayor they can. But they didn't call me so I could call the mayor," he said.

First, the gang structure in Chicago is so fractured. No one knows who runs one block to the next, so anyone claiming to speak for all of the various factions is lying.

Second, something like this has been tried before under J-Fled and it was used as a set up to assassinate one so-called "leader" when he left the meeting with J-Fled.

Third, this was also tried back in the 1960/70's where criminal enterprises were given federal grant money under the guise of "feeding" the neighborhood poor, and they misdirected the money into drug and gun running.

We'd have to demand a show of faith from these so-called "leaders." Something like a couple of 40-yard dumpsters full of guns, another couple full of drugs, and a third set of full of homicide offenders protected by the "community" these many years.
