You might think the police were busy or something:

• The full extent of the damage done by the violence and rioting in Baltimore is graphically revealed today.
  
  Dozens of shops, businesses and gas stations were burned and ransacked across the city as the streets were turned into a 'war zone'. Shopkeepers told Daily Mail Online that they fled in terror as looters rampaged in as they were still inside - and stole everything. A family of four had to flee their apartment above the liquor store they owned when it was set ablaze underneath them. And a gas station owner said that he had lost $53,000 after his store was ransacked. An empty ATM was smashed open during the frenzy.
  
  Rajneesh Nagpal, 39, was furious that he had called the police 50 times but nobody came to help him.

At least everyone had guns to defends themselves - oh wait:

• After Baltimore descended into chaos, remember that Gov. Martin O’Malley was so proud of the anti-gun law he got enacted into 2013. We have seen that Baltimore police did not or could not defend people – and O’Malley’s law makes it far more difficult for citizens to acquire the means to defend themselves.

At least the political powers are stepping up to the plate:

• The president of the Baltimore City Council apologized for calling rioters “thugs” at a press conference Tuesday, calling those responsible for the violence “misdirected” youths. Standing side-by-side with self-proclaimed gang members, Jack Young said that gang members stood in front of stores to prevent looting and retracted claims that gang members were targeting the Baltimore police.

You read that correctly - the City Council leader is standing with known gang members and apologizing to rioters. Gamgs that necessitated this being issued nationwide:
