Meeks Prays for Death

This guy is a total asshole, bar none:

• In the past year, Chicago has attracted significant national attention for its high murder rate and widespread violence.
  
  Now Chicago police and some community leaders say they may be winning the battle against violence.
  
  The murder rate in the city has now dropped to its lowest level since 1950s.

That's a lie, as we pointed out early yesterday. But then they go and quote the so-called "reverend" Meeks:

• Salem Baptist Church's Reverend James Meeks notes that God answered his recorded prayer in early February that the month's homicide total would not exceed fourteen and it did not.
  
  "Nobody had ever asked God for a specific number to see what He could do," Meeks said.

Would the "reverend" like to tell the class how he came up with the number 14? And how did he implore God to pick the 14 unlucky souls who would end up on the wrong end of the Lord? Was it only white people he asked God to have murdered? Asians? How about grandfathers gunned down by their grandson with a stolen gun? Or just 20 time losers with records as long as our arm?

Please "reverend," how did you come up with God's Dead Pool? And were you playing this game when Hadiya got killed? Was she on your "let's not have January murders exceed 50" list?  And what did that 6-month-old baby do to deserve death?

And this asshole gets elected to the legislature where he'll vote to disarm every single one of us.
