- Three inmates and a jail deputy were taken to area hospitals after a fight at the Cook County Jail division that houses the facility’s youngest and most violent inmates, officials said.
The fight started between two inmates at Division 9 in the jail about 4 p.m., according to statements emailed from the Cook County sheriff’s office. Other inmates joined the fight, with one using what sheriff’s officials believe was a pen or another writing instrument to injure three other inmates, according to the statement.
An e-mailer says that the Teamsters are going to call on Dart to resign shortly as he has been short-staffing the jail, politicizing videos to demean and endanger officers, and pretty much being an all-around dick.
